Every letter deserves care. This page explains how DearSomeone prepares, prints, packages and delivers your correspondence.

Our fulfillment philosophy

DearSomeone treats every physical letter with care and respect. A letter is not a parcel — it carries intention, memory and trust. Our fulfillment process is designed to preserve privacy while ensuring reliable delivery, and every step reflects that balance.

02

Service availability

Currently, DearSomeone delivers only within India. We chose to begin here so we could build a fulfillment experience we are proud of before expanding further.

Future expansion may introduce additional countries. When that happens, this policy will be updated to reflect new destinations, timelines and any differences in service.

Before a letter can be sent

A letter generally moves through the following stages before it reaches its recipient:

  • Draft — you compose the letter inside your mailbox.
  • Submitted — the letter is queued for review and fulfillment.
  • Recipient consent — where applicable, the recipient is asked whether they wish to receive it.
  • Safety review — automated checks look for content that could cause harm.
  • Payment or credits verification — the required credits are confirmed.
  • Print queue — the letter enters the production schedule.
  • Printing — the letter is printed in-house under controlled conditions.
  • Packaging — the letter is prepared for dispatch.
  • Dispatch — the packaged letter is handed to an authorised delivery partner.
  • Delivery — the letter is delivered to the recipient's address.

If any required stage is incomplete, fulfillment does not proceed.

05

Printing

Letters are printed in-house by DearSomeone. Printing occurs only after all required conditions — consent, review, and payment — have been satisfied.

Production copies used for fulfillment are handled securely. They are created solely to complete delivery and are not retained beyond what is reasonably necessary.

· · ·
06

Packaging

Letters are carefully packaged to protect privacy during transit. Packaging is designed to minimise unnecessary exposure of personal information, and outer surfaces reveal only what a courier needs to complete delivery.

· · ·
07

Dispatch

After packaging, letters are handed to authorised delivery partners within India. Dispatch notifications may be provided where available, but they depend on the capabilities of the partner network.

Estimated delivery times are not guarantees. They are guidance based on typical operational conditions.

08

Delivery

Delivery depends upon a number of factors outside our direct control, including:

  • recipient availability;
  • courier operations;
  • local conditions and access;
  • weather;
  • public holidays;
  • other circumstances beyond DearSomeone's control.

We make reasonable efforts to complete delivery, but we cannot guarantee outcomes that depend on third-party logistics providers or events outside our influence.

· · ·
09

Failed delivery

If delivery cannot be completed due to an incorrect or unavailable address, the letter may be returned to DearSomeone. In such cases, we may request further instructions from the sender where appropriate.

DearSomeone cannot guarantee successful delivery where inaccurate information is provided. Please take care to confirm the recipient's address before sending a physical letter.

· · ·
10

Delivery timelines

Timelines shown within DearSomeone are estimates. Actual delivery may vary depending on the destination, courier capacity and operational conditions at the time.

We do not promise delivery by a specific date unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.

· · ·
11

Cancellations

Users may request cancellation before fulfillment begins. Once a letter has entered production — typically after the print queue stage — cancellation may no longer be possible.

Credits already consumed are generally not refundable except where required by law. If you believe your situation warrants an exception, please contact support and we will review it in good faith.

· · ·
12

Privacy during fulfillment

DearSomeone is committed to protecting user privacy throughout fulfillment. Access to personal information is limited to what is reasonably necessary to complete delivery.

Senders do not see recipients' postal addresses. Recipients do not see senders' payment details. Each party sees only what is needed for the correspondence to take place.

· · ·
13

Lost or damaged deliveries

Although every effort is made to ensure successful delivery, DearSomeone cannot guarantee against loss, delay or damage caused by third-party logistics providers or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

If a letter appears lost or arrives damaged, please contact support. We will investigate in good faith and, where appropriate, work with you to find a fair resolution.

Future service improvements

Fulfillment processes may evolve as DearSomeone expands. Material operational changes — such as new delivery partners, additional service areas, or changes to timelines — will be reflected in this policy.

When we update this page, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. Continued use of the service after material changes means you accept the updated policy.
